Grown right.
Since 1969.

A-G Sod Farms started in 1969 with John — the Sod Father — one field, and a way of doing business you don't have to explain twice: grow it right, deliver on time, answer the phone. Fifty-five years later, three generations of the family are still in the field, and four California farms carry that same standard.
We stayed small on the things that matter: family ownership, a single point of contact, and a promise that every roll leaves the field the day it's cut. We grew large only on the things that make the product better — acreage, agronomy, equipment, and precision.
Three generations, one field at a time.

The Sod Father starts A-G Sod Farms with one field in California and a promise you don't have to explain twice: grow it right, and show up when you said you would.

The family expands into a second California farm. John's kids step onto the tractors — the standard stays exactly the same.

Certified Bermuda varieties and a reputation for on-time delivery make A-G the go-to for California golf courses — from municipal muni to championship venue.

A-G moves the fields to certified, water-saving Bermudas — up to 50% less water, deeper roots, the same vivid green. California's water future, planted early.

Notable applications on stadiums, campuses, and municipal fields. A-G varieties perform at the top level — Hard Rock, Angels Stadium, Dell Diamond, Royals PGA.

A-G becomes a full solution — not just a pallet. Big Roll installation, removal & replacement, stolon & sprig grow-ins, coordinated by real people at the farm nearest to the job.

Family-run, statewide reach. Moreno Valley, Palmdale, Fresno, and Stockton — fifty-five years growing California's most trusted sod, and the third generation still in the field.

Craft, honestly practiced.
Everything downstream is easier when the sod itself is right.
We plan on being your grower for the next decade, not the next order.
Timelines, pricing, and agronomy — communicated plainly.
To grow California's finest turf — responsibly, consistently, and with respect for the land that made it possible.
